Ltd., established in Goa in 2000, specializing in IMFL and Hard Seltzers; and Seven Seas Distillery Pvt. Ltd., founded in Kerala in 1981, with a legacy of acquisitions and industry expansion. Together, these branches contribute to PDPL’s vision of revolutionizing the Indian liquor industry while preserving craftsmanship and quality.
Challenges
One of the key challenges faced by Pearl Distillery Private Limited (PDPL) arises from its hybrid operational model, where it functions as both a private and state-controlled entity. Sales data for private entities is typically not shared, whereas public sales data is updated weekly on government websites based on the previous week's transactions. In the private sector, sales executives are responsible for taking orders, whereas in the public sector, distribution follows a demand-based supply model, preventing direct order-taking by sales executives.
Another challenge is the lack of shop-level sales insights. Sales executives have no clear visibility over which products have already been sold, making it difficult to analyse shop performance. Furthermore, there is no system to track whether an executive has visited a particular shop, adding to the inefficiencies in sales planning and execution. Thus, this led to sales executives struggling with poor promotion of their products.
Solutions
To address these challenges, SalesJump has integrated several solutions to enhance sales tracking and decision-making.
Sales Data
Government sales data has been integrated, providing access to public sales records. Each shop is assigned a unique number, allowing sales data to be mapped accurately under each shop.
Requirement
The system also tracks the quantity requirement, and the number of units sold for each product, ensuring better demand planning.
Stock Availability
Stock availability is captured to identify which products are currently available in each shop.
Competitor Analysis
SalesJump has integrated competitor analysis to determine the number of competitor products available, compare their prices with PDPL’s, and analyse their quantities, enabling strategic pricing and inventory decisions.
Outcome and Impact
The integration of SalesJump SFA has improved sales operations for Pearl Distillery Private Limited (PDPL) by addressing critical challenges.
Four vendors attempted these integrations to analyse shop data and track product requirements and stock availability but failed. But we succeeded in implementing the required enhancements. By integrating government sales data, SalesJump provided structured insights, assigning unique numbers to shops and mapping their sales data, enabling better tracking and sales planning.
Also, SalesJump resolved the lack of visibility into shop-level sales insights and the stock availability data by integrating both stock availability and quantity requirement insights, allowing executives to make informed decisions and optimize product distribution.
SalesJump integrated detailed insights into competitor products, pricing, and stock levels, helping PDPL refine its strategies. Previously, sales executives had no visibility into shop analysis, which led to ineffective product promotion.
